It was all yellow (James reporting)

Last night we looked at the stars. The stars on the stage at the Dallas American Airlines center - were Coldplay. Nobody said it was easy - but they did say it would be awsome, and it was. I was scared, I was scared, tired and underprepared, for how emotional it all was. Indeed tears streamed down our faces. It did make me think of home, especialy of certain friends - with whom I like to speak to when I'm scared about the future, or don't know what to do. It was awsome - Mike isn't writing, as the excitment caused him to have a little rush of blood to the head - so he has gone to lie down for a bit. The truth is, lovely people back home, we miss you (I need to tell you in my loudest tones) that we miss you x Posted by Picasa

We are going to Coldplay...and later I will tell you ALL about it!

Poke Me, Poke Me, Poke Me...

I have felt an urge to post a post as I am so excited about Coldplay tonight but fear that this will steal your interest from our antics last night.

We went to a proper American party! Red cups, a crap band, a filthy house, and one of those beer feeding devices, like in Old School.

To be honest it wasn't all that and we headed to Liesl's house for some drinks and laughs. My glum mood was lifted this morning when London Irish thrashed Northampton in the premiership.

Anyone fancy leaving a comment?? x Posted by Picasa

What a rubbish way to start my amazing weekend!

The weather is shocking and the rugby was even worse! Let's hope the Coldplay gig isn't cancelled! x Posted by Picasa

I'm thinking of becoming a model...??!?!

It's been a fun last couple of days and my mind has been at rest without the constent worry of exams and revision.

Last night we (James, Anthony and his fellow Leeds student Jenny, and myself) went to see UNT's finest 'Big Band', known as 'The One O'Clock Lab Band'. They were absolutely fantastic. Aparently if you look at any decent Jazz band in America at least one of it's members will have studied at UNT. We alse went to see the new Pink Panther movie last night which was hilarious.

James has of late been campaining to see me thrown off of Facebook. Two days ago he wrote to Facebook to inform them of a new group titled 'The James Woodhall is a homosexualist society'. What he didn't realise is that I could actually be banned from Facebook and so he had to email again to tell them that it was just a bit of banter. We had a bit of a competition to see who could pick up the most members in a new group. I started the 'Wearing your collar down is for poor people' group, and James the 'Wearing your collar up is for chavs'. Sadly he is thrashing me in the number of punters...I feel defeated!

This weekend is gonna to be the tops; England vs Scotland tomorrow morning followed by Coldplay on Sunday night. Oh the lives we live!

Everybody Needs a Facebook Account

Today seemed like the first time in ages when I haven't had exams. I woke up a little late just in time for my 9:30 lecture. The lecture was so boring that by the time it had finished I made a mental note to book an appointment sawing my left arm off next week.

I had a quick break afterward in which James, Anthony and I grabbed a cup of Earl Grey and then I headed to my second and final class of the day.

I was meant to be meeting Amber (golf) to go to the gym, but she wanted an opinion on a dress first. Boldly and courageously, Anthony and I stepped up for the challenge. It was such a fun little trip and I managed to get what I believe to be my bargain of my whole time here...the Ralph Lauren V-Neck pictured above left for a mere...$26!!! That's about £15! Bargains!

We headed via KFC on our way home and hence forth played golf and watched Craig perving over young girls on the Internet until I decided that some last minute revision was due in preparation for tomorrow's two exams.

I also got in contact with the Darling family today (friends of the Wilmot clan from Paris days I believe). Their daughters seem to have blossomed into absolute totty and I'm looking forward (as is James) to seeing them again over spring break. I've added them on the Facebook!

Enough ranting for now, I hope you're smiling...x Posted by Picasa

I'm so glad it's the weekend. I got up early in order to listen to the rugby (England vs. Scotland) on the radio, but allas it is not until next week!

Gutted and tired I headed to Ihop with Scottish Craig and James for some brekky. Since then Anthony and I have been playing some classic 90's tunes at full volume whilst singing the lyrics to all of College Inn. "I'm a Scatman..."

It's freezing today...really freezing! I slipped on the ice it's so cold! Last night we watched Elf and enjoyed some beer, I feel like such a kid trying to get alcohol. I've been working hard at the old revision today so I'm just about to reward myself with a break and a trip to the jacuzzi.

It's gonna be a tough week with exams etc but next weekend will be full of fun; the rugby and of course COLDPLAY!!!!

Keep it real homies. x Posted by Picasa

What a (Fr)(N)ight...

This is my roommate Andrew everybody! Please say hello...

Yesterday's weather was gorgeous! The sun was pelting down some sexy rays and the wind was just giving off a slight breeze...perfect! Anthony (English who lives next door) and his roommate Chris and I all headed for the gym to play some b-ball. In gangster style we tore that place apart with our ill white man skillz. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Come the evening all the boys decided to watch Saw II together after having a swift drink. It was so freakin' scary but I didn't cry.

No golf today and the weather is meant to be dropping big time so I'm gonna hit the books and revise for Monday's exam...and Wednesday's exams (plural).

Go talk to someone who's on their own...x Posted by Picasa

Happy Valentine's day friends,
After my phone broke from an overload of invites from the ladies I decided that the lonely hearts club was the place for me to spend my favourite night of the year.

James and I headed to Liesl (whose coming to Coldplay with us) and Lauren (who is pictured on my right in the photo)'s house where we cooked up some nosh and watched sad love movies. It was actually really nice and Liesl agreed to be my facebook spouse which was rather exciting!

Before we headed over to the girls we were invited by James' friend Daniel for some food at his friends house. We assumed the friend had cooked too much and the four of us would have a quick bite to eat before heading out. However when we arrived at the friends house it was a whole different story...there were kids there! James and I gave each other the look and went in assuming that Daniel's friend lived with his family and that they were going to be present for dinner too. Five minutes later the house was packed with older people with beards and their kids...that's right guys we had just crashed a Chrisitan church group. The guys there said grace for about twelve minutes, by which time the food was cold. Finally we found a corner to settle down and munch when all of a sudden a hairy chap and his children come out with guitars and a sing-a-long of all our favourite Christian rhymes commences! I could not control myself it, was so funny, absolutely not what we were expecting but a real eye opener and the guys there were very hospitable.

I just got my first exam result back which was 74%...a shocker! Over here I should be getting a minimum mark of 80%. It was a real kick up the backside and I'm hoping that the three exams coming up next week will see better grades.

I seemed to be drenched in work at the moment which is a real shame; I'm hoping to get a foot on it all by the weekend...after England thrash Scotland in the six nations that is!

Love love people! x Posted by Picasa

A Dream Come True

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am terribly excited.

I woke up this morning at ten to nine in a fright. Looking at the clock I was aware that I had only five minutes until my first class began and remembered that in my slumbery state I had been dreaming of how I had wasted all of Sunday by not revising for my Tuesday exam.

With both these things on my mind I leapt out of bed, only to realise that actually it was Sunday, I have no classes and all of today and Monday for revision.

So why am I excited? I have done NO revision today, none whatsoever and as a result when I wake tomorrow morning my dream will have come true! I've never had a dream come true and now I just can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning! x Posted by Picasa

What a treat...

What fun we have had over the last few days! Despite a shocking game of rugby between England and Italy on Saturday morning our weekend has been fantastic.

On Friday we had golf with Amber and Shannon (our golfing totty) before heading for some BBQ and then the mall. The mall was massive! It has a circumference of one mile! We hit all the classics like Gap and Abercrombie before persuading Amber that we needed to put our bags in her car...oh the weak minded American! James and I went to the car with the bags and of course moved it to the other side of the car park; ready to pull the "did you lock it?" line upon our return with the girls.

We had dinner at Amber's and then went to her high school to see a dancing show. James and I were naturally incredibly embarassed at watching young fillies dance but we managed to hang in there. Following the show we went to Liesl's coctail party which was a brilliant way to finish what had been a great day.

As I mentioned, Saturday morning was the rugby on the BBC website and after what was a disapointing game I was ready for some food. We headed to the International House of Pancakes (Ihop) with Craig (Scotland) and James for some brunch. When we got back Craig and I settled into pizza and donuts (doughnuts) before we decided that for dinner we should go to Hooters (a FAMILY restaurant). We had a lovely young waitress bring us our food and there was a generous helping of banter at the table.

It's now Sunday morning and I have been split as to which rugby game I listen to, but in the knowledge that Scotland could never perform well twice in a row I have decided to listen to London Irish vs Newcastle. I've got an exam on Tuesday so today is going to see a decent show of revision before church in the evening.

Anyway Jonny Wilkinson is just about to come on, 2 minutes before the end of time, so I must dash. Do keep up the comments and if you're not yet on the facebook....get involved!

Peace out homies. x Posted by Picasa

James' thoughts

[James writing]
Blog readers, the last few days have been hectic socially. Last Sunday was the 'Super bowl' (the final of the american football season) We went to Amber and Shannon's boyfriend's house to watch the game. Mike supported the Seattle Sea Hawks, but I supported the Pittsburgh Steelers who won (moment captured in picture - top right) While celebrating in the garden, the Sea hawks fans grabbed guns and tried to shoot us. (top left) Fortunately I found a hiding place in a model rail way track (bottom left) Tomorrow we are going to dinner at Amber's house, but are going after to a partay at Liesl's - its a hard life, but we are just so popular.... well, we are in america. It would be nice to hear from you lovely people at home - do leave a comment!love love, jw and mw xxx Posted by Picasa

I'm aware that the red anotation on the previous post's picture was not legible.

What is said is that the floor is our putting green, we have a fat sofa, a neat TV set up with a PS2 and sound system, a toaster, fridge/freezer and microwave, a walk-in-closet and an en suite!

Crazzzzzzzy please!

Roooooooooooooooooom, Yeeeeeeeeeeeees!

Hello Guys and Dolls,

I moved room! I left Alex and room 339 on Monday night to live with Andrew (an American) in number 339.

As Andrew is from the States he's bought all his own stuff with him so our room is nicely kitted out. Andrew is a top bloke as well and our suite mates are English Anthony and Texan Chris who just as fun.

All in all I'd say I've got a pretty good deal!

One sad thing has happened though...after giving my younger brother the honour of a post just about him this prize was abused after he left some extremely cheeky posts. If only children of today were a little more urbane...urbane Ciffy; do you know what that means??

Keep working hard at school; don't forget the mahusive present you'll be getting if you get into Elstree.

All the best you hansome little man,

This is the view from my balcony...every day!

This weekend has been nice and lazy. My room mate Alex has been away so it's been just me. It has been nice to have some privacy...and walk around the room with no clothes on! Only joking Mum!

Last night we went to dinner with some guys I met on day one and one of their mothers made us some killer burgers. It was spledid to have some real food!

It's super bowl Sunday today (which is American football) so I think we're gonna watch the game before heading off to church.

This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago but I only just noticed the big black guy in the background whom I fear was under the impression that I was making fun of his ethnicity. One must be politically correct these days. I have been shocked at hearing the news of how the Muslim world is reacting to cartoons in a Danish newspaper. Can you imagine if the Christian world had behaved similarly in responce to the Jerry Springer opera?

I'm going to sing a John Lennon song now.

Come on England!

What a way to start my day! 47-13 a swooping victory over the Welsh. I'm told that the English sledging team are also doing rather well! x Posted by Picasa
