J'ai rien de neuf. Le temps est bel aujourd'hui et je suis allé à l'église ce matin.

Enough of that tosh....I'm trying to distract myself from work so I'm writing an entry, although really I have nothing to say.

I went to church this morning and it was so incredibly American. The sermon was on 'telling your kids about the birds and the bees. It was as a result, not really relevent to the young bachelor type and curious as there was no mention as to whether or not sex is in any circumstances a faux pas. Just how to talk to your kids about where they came from. Practical I suppose!

I've got a meeting tonight starting at 10pm as I have the final presentation for my entrepreneurship project on Wednesday. It means tonight is gonna be a bit of a late one though and I have both my golf practical final and my penultimate logistics exams on Monday....heavy!

News from Robin tells me he is now in San Franciso...the international man of mystery. Better look back at the books. Keep smiling kids, Jesus loves you! x Posted by Picasa

Last night....we had a tornado warning!!! It was crazy exciting, some people were stressing a little bit, and rightly so but muggins here was loving it. I really think it is awesome that nature can control such unstoppable power. There was meant to be a second warning at 2am, but I guess it never happened so tornado did not strike, but they were expecting baseball size hail stones!

Anyway, with Robin gone I have now begun to focus on my work. I have exams solidly for the next two weeks now so there is plenty to do. Oh the joys!

Well....I'd best head back to the books. Love love. x Posted by Picasa

Lord Robin has left us! Last night we celebrated his time in Texas with a small gathering at Misti's apartment. I'm really going to miss his company, it's been such a fun week with him. Thank you sir!

Henrik and I went with him to the hairport this afternoon and now I sit here alone but for the stack of papers on my desk, screaming for my attention.

The next two weeks are going to fly by as my time is going to by fully occupied with exams and projects due in.

I'm so excited about getting home now, especially about seeing my family. There are people here who I'm really gonna miss though.

Now back to the books.....love love. x Posted by Picasa

Here's Robby!!

A big hello from the little guy in the big country!!Let me tell you i'm having an awesome time out here having met all of mike's wonderful and equally crazy friends! He's been an awesome host so far and we have done a lot more than i was expecting. Been to the hard rock cafe in dallas and up some rediculously tall tower where the photo in the bottom left was taken from. We thought we'd send across the words of the beatles, please read into them what you will!!James' 'tim nice but dim' hair style has made way for rather swanky cut today, lookin good!We did some more shopping today at some outlet village and it saddend me again that everything is so expensive in the UK. Might not come back. seriously. Mike picked up some CDs in a rather english themed Virigin megastore and i got some clothage. we're lookin and soundin hot. We are planning a trip for hooters tomorrow. Have been told that they are rather hospitable? ahem. don't know what mike meant but he's a man of taste, so i'll trust him!I burnt to a crisp so i'm liberally applying afetr sun which is sadly evaporating before it touches my skin! nice.

Gotta get back to the after sun and into my bed so i'm gonna leave it there and bit you fairwell for tonight. Big luv. R x x

A Whole Bunch of Rusty Trombones

Well well.....I don't know where or how to start retelling the tales of the last couple of days. It's been such a blast so far and I'm hoping that the start of a new working week won't slow down the fun in any way.

On Friday we went shopping with Misti. Robin bought the American Eagle essentials in order to start living the American dream. He also got the same camera as me but because this is America he got a megapixel more and it cost £100 less! Outrage!

Friday night was another of Liesl's classic parties which was pure laughs. Saturday saw a trip to a student 'village' (where students live) sitting by the pool and just chilling. In the evening we went to Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas and then up Reunion tower to check out the views....Robin is scared of heights so I pushed him off....it made me laugh!

Today we were jammy enough to find ourselves free baseball tickets! We headed off to see the Rangers smash the Tampa Bay dudes....I think there were four or five homeruns.....twas ace! We were going to go to a poker party this evening but the baseball has clearly worn us all out so it's time for ordering pizza and watching movies. Safe.

I'm aware that this post is rather informational and not humourous in the slightest. I'm tired though.....leave it out. x Posted by Picasa

Robin has landed!

Let me start from the begining....woke up yesterday morning, not feeling on top of the world; got an exam result back, didn't do the best in the world; did a presentation to a load of noopsie girls who whispered about my accent the whole way through, made me feel like the king of the world; me Amber (golf) and James and went to the hairport to pick up the Robin!

He arrived in fine form and in one piece. Hungry tummies had to be filled so we cruised over to 'Texas Road House', a steak house...in Texas! The nibble this evening was peanut and TRH allow you to throw your shells on the floor (some stupid Texan thing). I of course couldn't possibly take advantage of such a juvenile rule, but as you can see from the photo Robin was loving it!

We got back to the Inn and immedietly introduced Robin to 'Blazing Saddles' a movie that must have been made in the 70's which is slightly racially charged but on a humorous level. Anthony had his last ever concert tonight so we took Robin to see him play and to give his last bow to a crowd of millions...*cough cough*

To bed at not to late an hour and now awake at 9am. Today will see a tour of campus followed by one of the lovely Liesl's evening parties. A big thank you to my dear mummy for the easter egg you sent over with Creswell, and Lucy B for you gorgeous card! Missing you one and all!

Happy Easter everybody!

It is a travesty that the Americans see 'thanksgiving' as worthy of a day off but not Good Friday! Alas I am sitting at my desk on this beautiful bank holiday surrounded by books and preparing myself for my next class. What a scandel!

James' dad and sis headed home yesterday afternoon and soon after we were invited to celebrate Easter with Joni (green top) and her family. Anthony (Leeds), Chris (his roommate), James, Misti (Joni's mate) and I all headed out for Plano, Texas in the late afternoon. We arrived to be lavished in some of America's finest chocolate cake and champagne. We headed back to Denton at about 10pm and went straight to the girls apartment block where we jumped in their pool and laughed till the early hours.

Had golf this morning and was successful in aiming the ball towards the green and not pregnant bottoms! Exam on Tuesday which I'll be studying for today....in the sun....98 degrees fahrenheit! What's it like in England?!?! God save the Queen! x Posted by Picasa

A Fine Feast

This photo has nothing to with what I'm writing but it's the only photo I have that you haven't seen....haven't taken many photos in a while.

On the right (my left) we have the lovely Jenny Hird (the sister I never had) from Leeds. And under the other wing is the gorgeous Jennifer McClain a Texas homegirl!

Right...just a quick blog before I go to bed. I just had such a great evening and I wanted to share it with you all! I went to the Galleria mall today, which is huge! I went with Henrik and Isabella (Danish exchange students). We met up with another girl from Denmark who's on exchange to another university and went to dinner in the 'upper' end of town. It was more expensive than most places but worth it for several reasons:

Firstly, and most importantly, it was the finest veal I have ever eaten in my life; so so tender! As it was a classier establishment they weren't going to ID me so I got to enjoy a glass of shiraz with my food. And finally the service and the welcome was faultless, especially considering that we turned up an hour late! Our waiter knew that Reading had been promoted to the premiership!!! That earnt him a bonus tip! What made it for me was that the manager made a special effort to come out to our table and say 'hello' to us each individually, thanking us for coming etc. I haven't had such great service and food in so long.

So if you're ever in Dallas do try and make it to 'Il Sole' on Travis Street! (www.ilsole-dallas.com).

Right, off to bed, exhausted and SO much work to do tomorrow. Puits de sommeil. x Posted by Picasa

This is me...in my closet. I am not coming out of the closet, I'm just in the closet.

I look silly in this photo for three reasons. Firstly, and most obviously, I am not expecting a photo to be taken. As a result I am not smiling and my hands are in my pockets. Secondly, my hair looks really silly and is serioulsy lopsided. This comes as a result of having just exited the shower. Finally, I still have the label on my shirt. This is not cool kids. Don't make the same errors that I have made in life.

As you regular readers will know Robin of Creswell will be joining the Texas adventure for a week, arriving on April 20th. For those of you who are even more in the know you will be aware that on May 8th it is my 20th birthday! *whoo* So, for those of you yet to send me a lovely letter, why not give Robin a big fat huge birthday present to take over to me? Perhaps a hairbrush to aid in making me more photogenic?

That's the end of this post....I hope you all had a good weekend. It's been a while since I did a 'shout out' so this one is for my brother Tom is 22 years old today! Happy Birthday Tomma, I hope you had a lovely day and didn't crash any motorbikes into the Parsons' fences?!?!

Arrivederci. x Posted by Picasa

Helloooo! I have had such a fun filled weekend! Let me tell you all about it!

On Friday night I went to a party with Anthony, it wasn't great so I'm now gonna skip to....Saturday! On Saturday, Yvonne (bottom left - Scottish), her roommate Katelyn (bottom right, Ameican) and myself all went to Six Flags Over Texas. Six Flags is a theme park and it was super fun. We did all the good rides, I won't bore you with the details, but check out the website if you're bored...it's fun!

When we got back from Six Flags we went to Dave's house for a party (Mike dressed in party dress is top right). It was fun times and we laughed a lot! Then today I went with James and his familia to see the Texas Rangers play baseball. It was awesome, and the time spent sitting in the stands has begun the mission of 'bronzing' my skin!

I'm now back at my desk and getting stuff sorted for the week ahead. I hope all you Brits are enjoying Easter, until next time.....x Posted by Picasa

I'm proud to report that when you search 'mike wilmot' in google.com this blog is number four in the list!

Sadly we have slipped from the number one seed on msn.co.uk down to number five but who cares; google is the future!

Went to a little jazz gig last night which was nice. Dinner with the Woodhall clan this evening.

Voyez-vous plus tard. x Posted by Picasa
James and I sit, waiting, wondering, pondering...

....James' dad (John) and sister (Anna) have just arrived from the UK! They're here for 10 days, leaving on a Sunday and on the following Thursday Robin Creswell arrives for a week. The weekend after he leaves will mark only two weeks left of my intrepid adventure.

Finally my heavy work schedule has slowed down, although only marginally. I've just had the most rushed and stressful week, and today topped it off. I had golf this morning which usually I love but it couldn't have gone worse today. I had a couple of great shots but in a fit of stress I turned my rage towards the ball.....which itself turned away from the hole and towards/in to the direction of Jenny Cohen's (pregnant lady) bottom!!! I couldn't have hit the ball harder and she must have been in agony. I don't think I've ever been so embarassed in my life. I don't see any future business deals being signed on the golf course if I'm flying the ball into my future bosses face. It's certainly one to tell the kids anyway.

This afternoon saw my attending. and briefly performing. in the debut of Cowboy Colin before running to my exam, which I think has gone well.....we wait and see!

Cowboy Colin was fantastic and it was great that John and Anna were able to support James. He did a super job and the crowd were loving it.

Only a quick post today as I intend of enjoying my first evening off in goodness knows how long! Still haven't received any mail guys...............other than bad uncle Pad's lovely postcard, thank you sir! x Posted by Picasa
